Tax dodge is ambiguous, it could be either avoidance or evading.

Not likely libelous.

Firm run by ex-associate of Tory peer Michelle Mone wins £112million NHS deal

A firm run by the former business associate of Tory peer Baroness Mone won a £122million contract to supply PPE to the NHS just seven weeks after it was set up.

PPE Medpro was started by Anthony Page on the day he quit as the secretary of the company that deals with Baroness Mone’s “brand”.

Just 44 days later, PPE Medpro won a Department of Health contract – not advertised to other bidders – to supply 25 million gowns for health workers.

Mr Page is also a director of finance firm Knox Group, founded by Baroness Mone’s fiance Doug Barrowman.

Jolyon Maugham of The Good Law Project, told the Mirror: “Another hugely lucrative PPE contract has been awarded to a firm with no obvious qualification beyond links to very substantial donors to the Conservative Party.”

A spokeswoman for Baroness Mone said: “Baroness Mone has no comment as she has no role or involvement in PPE Medpro.
What is the insinuation? Is Baroness Mone on the committee handing our contracts? Or is it that voting conservative before a global pandemic is good for you?
No insinuation.

Just marvelling at the statistical freakery of taxpayer largesse always benefitting Tory friends and donors (just like the marginal constituencies)

Look at these amazing coincidences:

https://twitter.com/WritesBright/status ... 99746?s=20
It's actually at ridiculous levels. It would be more fine if it was competing expert companies and the government had a favourite, but the awarding is going to idiotic non experts or professionals and butchering the entire process.

Ironically one of the criticisms Dominic Cummings had of Government civil servants is the attitude that you just need a good set of general skills and then you can be applied to any role, even that of experts and thus he wants more experts and outside the box thinkers in the civil service. The government he serves and the contracts they award to non-specialist companies is proving his case entirely correct.

Regardless of his faults, Boris Johnson hasn't been shown to have much with the case of tax avoidance.

In fact then some Guardian writers kept accusing him of avoiding tax when he and Livingstone were going for Mayor again in 2012 it was Boris who showed all his tax returns were in order and Livingstone who had created cozy tax arrangements, including paying his wife and that was just the stuff Livingstone showed, he refused to release it all.

Tragically The Guardian then suddenly stopped articles discussing the Boris vs Livingstone tax issues until Nick Cohen himself called out his own paper on the hypocrisy when it was their favoured son who was avoiding full taxes and Brois turned out to be paying the full whack.

Sage scientists called for short lockdown weeks ago

The government's scientific advisers called for a short lockdown in England to halt the spread of Covid-19 last month, newly released documents show.

The experts said an immediate "circuit breaker" was the best way to control cases, at a meeting on 21 September.

Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick insisted the government had taken "robust action" that "balanced" the impact on the economy.

And Andy Burnham argues that lockdowns are useless against covid unless people are paid to do it.

There's no right or wrong way, but the government are the ones balancing risk using all available input, and they are the ones who will be judged on decisions made, not individual scientists or failed politicians.
