How it going with your terrorists?

Wibble

Have all the sides banged up to make them the official opposition ?

Strong and stable stuff.

You’re genuinely demented. Sinn Fein are an evil party that I despise. They got about 1/4 of the vote at our last election. They are not on a position to form a government here. What the fudge are you even talking about?

The update is that of course it's fine legally, and within the rules, but it doesn't 'look good'.

Blackford, from his island mansion that he somehow got to during lockdown, is now calling for the remainer civil service to investigate.... Investigate whether it 'looks good' or not, I guess?

Where are you going with this? He lives in Skye and went home. Am I missing something?

One rule for us, and one rule for the SNP.

Was everyone not allowed to go home? This is a very odd accusation

Well that's stay at home over. Harris nor Shapps sounded credible with isolate at home when having to caveat for Cummings. What a mess.

A mission to deflect, though the sheer stupidity can’t go unchecked. I don’t get it. Such blind loyalty to a political party. A coordinated campaign of lies, mistruths and manipulation. It’s positively Orwellian. You have a guy in front of you who is lying through his teeth but you will support him no matter what. Brexit in a microcosm I suppose. My sympathies to you Henry and what’s left of the sane population of Britain.

Apologies, I’d assumed that most people had read 1984 by the age of 16 or so

Quote:
events.

Description Edit
Winston Smith, the main character of Nineteen Eighty-Four, works at the Ministry of Truth.[5] It is an enormous pyramidal structure of glittering white concrete rising 300 metres (980 ft) into the air, containing over 3000 rooms above ground. On the outside wall are the three slogans of the Party and "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH." There is also a large part underground, probably containing huge incinerators where documents are destroyed after they are put down memory holes. For his description, Orwell was inspired by the Senate House at the University of London.[6]

Role in information Edit
The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history to change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. For example, if Big Brother makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth correct the record to make it accurate. This is the "how" of the Ministry of Truth's existence. Within the novel, Orwell elaborates that the deeper reason for its existence, the "why", is to maintain the illusion that the Party is absolute. It cannot ever seem to change its mind (if, for instance, they perform one of their constant changes regarding enemies during war) or make a mistake (firing an official or making a grossly misjudged supply prediction), for that would imply weakness and to maintain power the Party must seem eternally right and strong.

Minitrue plays a role as the news media by changing history, and changing the words in articles about events current and past, so that Big Brother and his government are always seen in a good light and can never do any wrong. The content is more propaganda than actual news.

We have a call from the SNP ( yes!) for the civil service to investigate whether the look is a good look or a bad look, or somewhere in between look. It would be wrong to prejudice that investigation with pure speculation.
