ATTN PR Admins: Forum is broken for browsers, mobile devices

Post by YOYO »

I normally post from my phone. For some reason today I cannot open the last page of a thread. I can open the all the previous pages of a thread ok.
Anyone else experience this same issue posting from their phone, iphone, tablet?

So I logged on from my laptop to created this thread, and now see the ad banner thingy on the right side. I don't see it from my phone.

Whats going on? Can we have the bored put back to how it was yesterday?

Edit: I cannot logon to the forum from from my iphone either, and 9 times out of 10, I cannot open threads when viewing from my iphone.

The issue for me happens on iOS iphone. It makes it impossible to use the forum.
Others have reported issues with different browsers, and perhaps on their laptops and not just mobile devices.

Working fine for me. Perhaps restore factory settings on your phone?

I'm having issues on my PC- there is a large white blank space on the right hand side of the page. The header bar and menu with 'FAQ' 'Search' etc is still in the right place, but everything below that has shifted to the left.

Edit: Given that someone mentioned an ad on the right hand side of the page, I'm using an adblocker which might explain it.

It doesn't seem to be a phone issue per se as others seem to be experiencing similiar issues. Its very annoying! Cannot basically use the forum from my iphone. Some might say thats a good thing. I understand.

It might be having compatibility issues with iOS devices.

@Admins, can you advise what has changed to causes these issues? Can you test yourselves with an iphone or other iOS devices?

you seen that SKY / O2 message about how if you've watched too many 'arty' sites in last 72 hours, you may be experiencing problems with cookies? its because their filters have broken under the strain of too many men at home trying to find wank material at 10.30am

Page has been shunted to put a full length advert in, for some reason adblock isn't removing the white space which I now get at the top and right of the screen

The only one I can log in with is a private tab on Firefox.

I've never encountered the issues i see today. Plenty of whiteouts, and sluggish performance, but not the situation where i cannot login to the forum from my iPhone, because the logon button is not clickable. Also weird that i cannot click on the last page number on a thread. I can click on the all the previous page numbers. The last page number is not clickable.

No ads appearing on my Android phone but I can't post

Ads appearing on the tablet and laptop but the whole site looks out of proportion with the ads on the left side.

So you can't post from your Android phone. From your phone, can you click on the last page number of a thread and open up the page? Does it open?

The performance of PR was really bad when i was logged on from my laptop and using IE browser. The forum seems to work fine when i use Google Chrome (ad's on the right).

PR put some ad monetisation software in forum y'day, which may cause the glitching etc.

Delete cookies and log back in. I've asked them re browser issues.

cheers. I deleted cookies and caches, but can still only login on a Firefox private tab. looks like some sort of overlay. The button just doesn't 'work'.

On Chromebook and also seeing useless waste of space on the right and all the decent content having shifted left.

I hope the bored's resident quasi alt-rights are beside themselves as they try to decide between seething and frothing.

would this be a cynical "hmm, more people stuck at home with nothing to do but forum, lets advertise and earn more money!" type thing ?

Search buttons/any buttons on the screen don't work on phone.

If I was to guess, they've tried putting in more ads and have f**ked the coding/format of the page.

Looks that way. They've broken the hyperlinks on mobile by the look of it.

iPhone won’t even open a thread. iPad seems unaffected (other than the new right-margin ads).

That’s interesting that iPad seems unaffected. I always use my iPhone and it’s not possible to use it to post on the the forum, browsing the forum threads also badly impeded.

Issues I encounter on my iPhone:
1. The logon button is not clickable. The button is unresponsive. Therefore cannot log on to forum.
2. The thread titles are mostly not clickable 9 times out of 10.
3. The last page of a thread is not clickable (100% unresponsive).

When I tested yesterday, logging in via laptop and using Google Chrome, all forum functionality worked for me. However the performance of Chrome might differ on iPhone or smart phones I general.

I thought you were having a laugh with Duck Duck Go. Never heard of it. Sure enough I found it on the App Store and downloaded it to my iPhone and surprisingly all the functionality on PR forum works.
However, we can’t be expected to use this obscure browser just to be able to use PR! Hopefully Jake the issues can fixed for all. Thanks

If you use AdblockPlus Browser with the "allow acceptable ads" function turned on (this allows unobtrusive ads that don't interfere with content) which I did because I don't hold anything against sites trying to make some money to cover the running costs none of the buttons work to log in, post in a topic etc.

So not just chrome.

The adverts that have been added have absolutely fúcked it up.

We can't be expected to use a W3 standards compliant browser which doesn't track the sites and pages you visit...
