Oh yeah! I had dinner there in 2015 and still remember the place fondly. The brisket was some of the best I've ever had.Short Man Syndrome wrote:Yeeb - this place is 5 mins up the road from me, it's one of my favourite places to eat and I think you'd love it. They do bottles of Stella for about $3 and the food is unbelievable (as you'd imagine with Texan bbq's) - https://www.terryblacksbbq.com/

Would like to claim quality vs quantity, but that'd be a lie!SaintK wrote:you havenKnuckleDragger wrote:Just to avoid even the remotest scintilla of doubt - I am not Globus under a new login........
Mate, you haven't got remotely enough of a daily post count to qualify.
He couldnt balance the hectic nature of council life with leading the global charge against a pandemic of biblical proportions. No man couldjdogscoop wrote:I notice he resigned his council position earlier this year. Perhaps in advance of his round the world sailing effort?
i agree with both parts of that statement.Druid wrote:I genuinely hope that he is ok, this place will not be quite the same without his input.

Hey MM, how are you guys doing, keeping up the Houston tradition of totally ignoring any Gov't guidance, particularly when it comes to Covid . Unfortunately we went back to the office this week, but at least the traffic is light.....Mr Mike wrote:Hmmmm beef ribs... good bump
Doing well thanks and hope all of yours are well and coping.Spyglass wrote:Hey MM, how are you guys doing, keeping up the Houston tradition of totally ignoring any Gov't guidance, particularly when it comes to Covid . Yep we've had great weather to be stuck at home, this is one of the nicest springs I can remember. Talking to my friends in O&G it seems like most companies will be returning to the office during June, so hopefully you'll have another month +.Mr Mike wrote:Doing well thanks and hope all of yours are well and coping.Spyglass wrote:Hey MM, how are you guys doing, keeping up the Houston tradition of totally ignoring any Gov't guidance, particularly when it comes to Covid . Caught between admiration for the Texan independent streak and concern that folks may just be oblivious. Still at home and feeling very grateful to have the ability to continue working from home and still being paid, unlike lots of others.
Garden and the grills getting lots of attention!
So do I, and I'm nice enough to think that the first trumps the second.happyhooker wrote:i agree with both parts of that statement.Druid wrote:I genuinely hope that he is ok, this place will not be quite the same without his input.

Let's keep some perspective. Someone has just stopped posting on an Internet forum.Getting pretty serious

Loads of prolific posters on this forum have decided to down tools and wander off into the sunset without fanfare or the need for some epic flounce. For a few ex posters I know off the board the most common reason was that this place was just consuming too much of their family time or was affecting their work and decided it was time to quit. I hope Globby is safe and well but I would not be surprised if he just decided to just go cold turkey and get on with his life as he was spending most of his waking hour on here. If he was indeed the well travelled man of means, influence, wealth, multiple hobbies etc that he made out to be I really wish he would actually go and enjoy life 'out there' in his retirement.frillage wrote:danny_fitz wrote:Let's keep some perspective. Any reason you cut the rest of my post, it was specifically in relation to the no reply to an email (knowing Globby’s passion for attention). Not because of an unannounced flounce.

He’s old so it won’t be work related, but this is a bollocks car crash of a thread and I’m sure he would love the attention. He’s still a cock, even if he’s dead.HighKingLeinster wrote:Something just occurred to me. Could the Globus persona be that of a master troll who has been forced to work from home and has forgotten the password to the account which was saved on his work machine or has been furloughed/lost their job and had to hand back the laptop and thus can no longer post?
Didnt Globby post at the beginning of the crisis that he may have connectivity issues? perhaps this was a subterfuge that he knew he would no longer be able to access his login in details.........
