These can be things of beauty, and PR have put up a pretty good montage. I particularly love the ones which leave multiple players standing (take a bow, Ickle Williams vs the Boks - twice in one match!), or by unexpected players (the English ladies' tighthead for example).

Inevitably there are many great ones missed. Which others do you remember? I've seen footage of Danie Gerber putting a whole back 3 on their arse with a change of direction; whichever of Bennett or John was playing 10 at the start of THAT BaaBaas try; Jason Robinson appearing to sidestep in the air through the French backline and score (can't remember the year); Schalke Brits must have a few.

Not sure 7s qualifies in the same way as there is so much more space.

Liam Williams' one to start the break for SOB's try against NZ was a beauty. Bit different though, as he was stationary and shaping to kick and Reid was rushing him. Easy to use Reid's momentum against him.

Heymans against NZ back in 2009 was incredible. Twice in one run. Skins Muliaina in a phonebox and then steps Rokocoko at the end.

Not sure about the whole back three - but Gerber did make two Irish defenders run into each other

The 1st try against Leinster is a pretty nice example of his stepping. My favourites come later; at 2.29 a lovely combination of sidesteps...but then a gorgeous flurry of sidesteps at 4.07 that came in the under 20s world cup semi final with 2 minutes to go and led to Wales beating South Africa to make the final. It's a thing of beauty.

LW's step and ghosting run-out will always remain one of my favourite rugby moments. Kept his brain working to stay in contact with his support. Reckon Daly's involvement on that try is underrated: his changes of angle and pace kept the two covering defenders committed, which allowed Jiffy Jnr and then SOB to break scrambling tackles and off-load/score.

I don't remember what happened that afternoon: my memory is completely blank, it did not happen.

[We got well and truly shocked and then spanked.]

Thanks, that's exactly the one I was thinking of! Superimposed another defender into my memory. Still amazing.

Yep. In real time, I could've sworn he'd changed direction mid-air.

That clip includes my favourite England try: the end-to-end team try against Ireland.

Suspect defence meant he got binned by the Scarlets, but then spent time in England with Bristol, did pretty well there, before coming to the Dragons, where he's been our most potent attacking weapon (which, seeing as we're talking about the Dragons, could be like describing a butter knife as the sharpest blade in a cutlery drawer full of spoons, but he's genuinely great going forward).

Still doing things like this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zE5pPmVYM0

Dragons try of the season...so still doing his jinking, until he got injured - should be back next season where hopefully we'll get more of that.

This is the Robinson sidestep against France - live and at full speed it did seem like he did it in mid-air, though obviously he didn't:
https://youtu.be/2afK153n27Y?t=180

The one I remember most was when he sidestepped the Italian fullback at full pace without appearing to slow down at all:
https://youtu.be/2afK153n27Y?t=171

And of course doing Latham on the outside:
https://youtu.be/2afK153n27Y?t=157

The French one looked like genuine magic live.

Must have missed that Italian match. Why on earth was he wearing 12 that day? Was Greenwood playing inside but in 13?

Watching that highlights reel reminded me that Wilko probably had a better pass to his right to Cohen in the 03 final. Try would have been under the posts. Guess he went left because Robinson was such a banker to touch down?

Such a good player to watch.
Love the fist pump after the Lions try and punching the ball after the RWC final one. Dunno why, but those are images of him that stand out in my memory. Probably seen them a million times in papers and online.

I like a nice functional sidestep. Not the ones where they hop high in the air and then somehow dart without snapping anything in their knees (though, from memory, Quade did just that at the RWC?).

Sounds a bit like Scott Gibbs at Wembley in 1999

I like this one. You think he's no business scoring surrounded by defenders.

It’s brilliant. The SA defenders look like the keystone cops.

There was a Fijian 7s guy called William Ryder.

He was ridiculous.

2004 6N was Woodward’s “back 4” experiment where he picked 4 winger/fullbacks instead of a conventional pair of centres. Yes, Greenwood would have been in 13.

Goose step and then a side step.
Master class in evasive movement and to win a RWC just adds to the brilliance.
