Given the questions I kinda get why I ended up there, but it does just emphasise an American bias and a lack of nuance in the questions. Being in favour of strong regulatory regimes and fundamentally cautious with regard to big business doesn't make one left wing.

Mine is in almost the exact same position. I think the axes are skewed a lot to the left though. I'd say I'm pretty much centre there.
Also their parties seem way off too at least for Ireland.

I'm fascinated with the idea that Thatcher was authoritarian rather than libertarian; that essentially goes against what I've understood about her. It's also ridiculously un-nuanced.

Looks like I've made a subtle shift to the left. Weird, I really suspected my answers might be a little bit more to the right than they were a year or two ago or whenever it was I did that last time.

I will say again, I think it's a pretty dumb test. WTF has believing in astrology and/or religious mumbo-jumbo got to do with political leanings? I think it's more a test designed to put people into stereotypical boxes, and slightly skewed to getting left-liberal results too.

But FWIW, here it is today:

:?: Was Thatcher was pro-homosexual marriage, pro-drugs, pro-choice, etc?

I dunno to be honest. I don't know much about her, she was before my time. It is interesting to see after a quick wiki search that she was quite environmentally-minded. She even founded to the IPCC and drove several initiatives to battle climate change. Of course, that was back well before the loon-brigade took over conservative politics fuelled by laughable misinformation and conspiracy theories.

In any case, I had always thought she was a pretty old-school authoritarian figure.

Well, "let the corporations do what they want because $$$" does not cut it as "libertarian". Libertarian, in my opinion, is it's own special brand of selfish, related-to, but not analogous with laissez-faire style capitalism. Libertarian ideology must extend to individual rights. Not only to own guns, but also to set up a hardcore-militant-Mosque-slash-gay-nightclub next door if it suites your fancy. But most libertarians I know cork their libertarian attitude once it comes to someone else but themselves - or at least someone else they don't agree with. In any case, it's better than being authoritarian, and it sounds to me like she was just that. Being liberal with unregulated capitalism is but one small part of the that philosophy to my understanding.

She didn't want unregulated capitalism afaik. She created new markets by selling off heavily unionised publicly owned assets, but certainly put regulators in place.

Just checked and I’m little changed from June when I did this before, so at least I’m consistent

Anyone too far on any of those axis away from centre origin, is a bellend

Yeah - having right-wing views in the UK doesn't mean you are religious or in thrall to big business, or that you think children should call their parents sir and ma'am.
