Phew what a scorcher!

Post by Anonymous 1 »

Hello campers. It's going to be a mini heatwave this week. Temperatures will reach a balmy 32 degrees on Wednesday in England and Wales.

Scotland you have been left out

Don't worry we're used to it. At least we will sleep at night!

Guess which ginger bastard is fitting a sun terrace on top of two metal shipping containers in direct sunlight all this week.

Anyone prepared to crowdfund me some more sunscreen? Already got through halt a tube today and this is apparently 'only' 25°

Surely half a tube is about 7 full-body applications for you

Serious answer - perhaps worth while spending an hour rigging up a sheet or a gazebo or something just so as you are out of direct sunlight 11am-3pm when the sun is strong ? Tarpaulin across some vertical scaffolding poles ?

Suncream on your hands and power tools don't mix. Especially 12 feet off the ground on a box. :uhoh:

It's funny how that happens! Dropped to 20 last week after being up around 30 for a bit and I DID put one on.

... but back in May, after April being consistently below 10, as soon as it hit 11 and 12, I was in shorts and a t-shirt.

It was so cloudy yesterday that I almost didn't get in the pool.

Almost.

No, I meant the sky was cloudy, not the pool.

If by coast you mean deepest, darkest cave full of cold Atlantic water it's possible to find, then I'm in. I can think of few worse places to be when it's hot than a beach.

5" of rain overnight, it's eased off but is still coming down, it's supposed to stop by midday.

My son's high school graduation is scheduled for this evening at the football stadium, I can't see that going ahead :(

Same here. I tried working outside with a towel over my computer but it still feels like you could fry an egg on it.

32 degrees

That’s genuinely heartwarming.

Like Jean Claude van Damme smiling benevolently when his special-case scholarship Dojo kid wins a bout against some other, you know, kid.

I'm genuinely baked. Had a 2 hour rest at lunchtime then kicked through till 8pm.

Although on the upside, I'm currently closer to being a bronzed Adonis than I'll ever be nowadays.
