A fantastic player to watch -- the purity of his ball striking was wonderful to behold.

He will have a much longer T/20 career on the circuit than if he'd kept playing international cricket.

I heard that Chuck Norris tried to kick him once but AB reverse swept the kick away and then invented the first electric car.

Awesome player. Very consistent.
Didn’t see enough of him play in NZ and to some extent he didn’t save his best vs the Kiwis.
Was great seeing him out here 2 seasons ago and he won a couple of ODIs for the Proteas with super intelligent and composed batting. A complete natural talent, so much time, so many shot options like all the great players.

I was reminded today of Simon Le Bon's overnight stay in Llanelli. SLB loved his motorbikes, and he used to ride a lot at Pembrey Race Circuit, about 5-6 miles west of my hometown. It's a pretty cool circuit and it brought all of the F1 guys during the 90s and 00s there, (Senna still holds the lap record) until the governing body changed the rules on # of test tracks - the twats.

Anyway, on one of his rides, he became unseated and managed to land on his crown jewels at over 100mph. He was taken to our hospital and stayed overnight as the medical staff tried to soothe his inflated gonads. The hospital corridors started to fill with teenage girls so extra security was brought in. Nurses were told if they took a pic, they would be reprimanded. Yasmin lay by his side on a mattress on the floor.

I don't know if he sang an octave higher after that experience.

True story.

I'm not saying he's the best cricket player ever, but when AB walked out to bat, you got bums on seats and eyes on screens. He was not going to die wondering, the bowlers knew he was going to place the pressure back on them.

Average test player, but pretty decent in the shorter forms. Top 5 in the last decade maybe.

Heard about that on Saturday. People phoned Ampie from India just to hear his voice because he's friends with AB
