TBH I don't like stinky cheese
Try it on a burger before you ruin yours with various tropical fruits.Jensrsa wrote:GorgonzolaSandstorm wrote:The only shite cheese is American cheese. And Camenbert. Smells like semen.
I know it's quite sad to admit it, but I've not looked into what the local (St. Galen) food/cuisine will be like ... crappo of me, yep. That said, I'd like to think that because I've lived all over the globe, I'm fairly adaptable. Looking forward to the on-tap cheese, chocolate, watches, gold and tax free stuff of course thoughbimboman wrote:Wyndham Upalot wrote:August - can't wait to indulge myself in all that holy (sp?) stuffbimboman wrote:You in the right place for it yet ?Wyndham Upalot wrote:Cheese is on a par with crack for sure. It’s a stereotype but even the supermarkets are full of amazing stuff.
(Their meat is crap).

Close second behind Stilton for me.bimboman wrote:Holy god he was serious about the bananas thing. That has to be a crime.
Roquefort is the world best cheese.
Drive to Germany or France for your meat. Save a bloody fortune.Wyndham Upalot wrote:Whoah, that's some serious outlay for meat - I'll seek out a discounter for sure. I'm not averse to paying top for quality, but if its overpriced, I'll body swerve. Or, I'll go tofu. As long as the cheese is up to scratch, I'll be content. My COL allowances seem generous, so I reckon I'll be ok in the long term.

Yep, cross border shopping seems sensible. I know German shops way back in the days of Penny Markt, so will defo be making those trips.bimboman wrote:Wyndham Upalot wrote:Whoah, that's some serious outlay for meat - I'll seek out a discounter for sure. You’ll be fine, it’s just a trip to Germany (1/2 hour for you). The pork is good.
What I did was bring back vacuum packed steak every time I went to the UK. And the Argentinian beef is excellent.
It pains me to do so but I agree.bimboman wrote:Holy god he was serious about the bananas thing. That has to be a crime.

Yeah, but could substitute yam, cassava, kumara for taro and it's still good.Ali's Choice wrote:taro and palusami. The palusami needs to be a nice batch though, nice and creamy.
Personally I'm not so keen on those choices. Umu cooked breadfruit at an absolute stretch but taro all the way!CrazyIslander wrote:Yeah, but could substitute yam, cassava, kumara for taro and it's still good.Ali's Choice wrote:taro and palusami.
