I don't know how it worked for the self employed here, but I think they were probably eligible for the wage subsidy to ensure there was no disincentive to doing the right thing.

I'm sure authorities in Oz will have gone through the same consideration.

I just spoke to a woman who tested positive to covid two weeks ago. She then goes on to tell me she can not speak to me because she is driving and driving with other people in the car. But she does feel OK now, I can fudge off, and she is too busy to answer questions about where she has been or is going. This is today in Dandenong South.

Persons who are close contacts under the Diagnosed persons and close contacts direction certainly face more restrictions on their movement than other people in their area, but the woman trapper spoke of may not have been a close contact.

MM, my son in Melbourne coughed at work - sent straight to a test, and was directed to self isolate pending the result. His workplace shut down until he received the result.

I was going to post an article about how Sweden seems to be one of the only countries to not be looking at a 2nd peak right now. Of course any final outcomes are far from certain.It seems changing behaviour, especially in public t keep up social distancing is a bigger factor than lockdowns.

No-one is sure. That is most of the problem.

According to The Herald Sun, only supermarkets, pharmacies and service stations will be allowed to keep trading in Melbourne, with a possible exception carved out for hardware stores, which could stay open for tradies only. Cafes and restaurants will be able to provide takeaway services.
