I wouldn't have given it, but I'll take it after some of the recent interesting calls against us.
My feed appears to be slightly behind.

Why are the Chiefs kicking most of their possession back to the Cru?

New rule
You can throw the ball forward so long as you put backspin on it.

That knock on was less forward than the knock on that led to Reece's try

O'Keefe has absolutely slayed the Crusaders at the breakdown this match.Fat Old Git wrote:I wouldn't have given it, but I'll take it after some of the recent interesting calls against us.

Is the TMO just tossing a coin?
Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
fudge. Even the Crusaders on the sideline are laughing at that call.
Anyway. Massive scrum there. Saders just know how to pick their moments in the last 20 of a game. That stat where it showed they score around 40% of their points in this zone.

Crusaders just got a penalty for pushing before the ball was in!

That’s about as good an inside pass as you’ll see.

Lovely. Just lovely.

I’m going for the Chiefs big time, but that no knock on call is absolutely fine by the laws of the game.

Yas Queen!
The Mo'unga linebreak and try assist was awesome.
And Leicester Fainga’anuku finished off, making Damien McKenzie his private dancer.

Floodgates are opening.
Ben O'Keefe really shouldn't ref another game, his opinion tends to override the law book.

Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
Should be a card. Professional foul in the red zone.

Assuming you are not trolling, I actually agree with you. The last contact looked to be a slap back, with the ball then bouncing forward.BBB wrote:I’m going for the Chiefs big time, but that no knock on call is absolutely fine by the laws of the game.
Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
There was not a Crusader onside at the last ruck. Just sayin.

Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
Chiefs ball retention is laughable
Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
The ball travelled forward through the air. Look at the markings on the pitch from where he loses ti, to where it lands
The fact that it bounced backwards is irrelevant for the Law

Very limited attack there by the Chiefs. That might work in easy rugby for Gatland, but not in NZ SR.

Fluffed it Chiefs, too many opportunities squandered.

Eh?BBB wrote:I’m going for the Chiefs big time, but that no knock on call is absolutely fine by the laws of the game.
This is the definition of knock-on:
Knock-on: When a player loses possession of the ball and it goes forward, or when a player hits the ball forward with the hand or arm, or when the ball hits the hand or arm and goes forward, and the ball touches the ground or another player before the original player can catch it.
This is the definition of forward:
Forward: Towards the opposition’s dead-ball line.
Now, how was the incident not a knock-on under the laws?

I just applied the forward pass law to that knock on.

Slapped back appeared to be what the officials were discussing. So that must have been their reasoning.BBB wrote:I absolutely detest the Crusaders.Kiwias wrote:Assuming you are not trolling, I actually agree with you. Re: Chiefs vs Crusaders: MATCH THREAD: Sat 1st August
Is there some NZ law that says the Crusaders have to win it every year?
Like some regional assistance quota or summat?

Sam Cane will be well practised giving losing captain's speeches.
How good and visible has Sam Whitelock's leadership been since Taylor left the field?
