Can't imagine M and S allowing this to stay on their shelves for too long. Someone is going to get a big boot up the backside

A slap in the face to the 255 dead troops? Is it not more of a slap in the face to the residents who current live there?

And you seem to be a very angry little man

I think it is more funny than anything, amazed how these things can make it the shelves of a big organisation like M and S

I am far from angry, I am laughing at you constantly taking offence at such things.
Thanks for calling me a little man :smug:

Excellent. The name should be in large, luminous letters.

I had a feeling that Fat69 and his puppydog And-y would be foaming at the mouth at people who would react to this. Those Welsh are weird f*ckers.

My uncle and I are quite left wing. And bimbo has called me woke

You may want to think about this for a second, but do you really think we'd like this as a gift?

No, Michael Foot supported the Falklands War. Most left wing people are patriotic and love their country.

I'm talking about the champagne socialist/Do as I say not as I do merchant/Trustafarian/hypocrite SJW/Progressive/Greeny/Corbynite in our lives. We all know them. They are the White Saviours who latch onto any protest of the day and for whom Britain always means bad and Non Britain always means good.

Yup. More specifically England is their issue, but there's a wider problem.

They've basically bolted. Anything which doesn't achieve 50% with race to them is a problem. Disparity to them is a problem. Everything needs to be fixed - I'd include history in that. They've no capacity to accept things. England's lost an awful lot of wars too, but that's not a concern. It's the wins that are the problem.

A very creepy bunch and they are clever in foisting pressure on business to achieve 50/50 and trying to make it law.

It's all rather embarrassing really.

(Can I note - there are some extremely sly ways to tell they aren't looking for fairness either.)

Dan Hodges sums it up well

They also forget that it was Labour under Atlee who developed the Atomic Bomb.

The noted Right Winger Aneurin Bevan told his colleagues that their demand for unilateral nuclear disarmament would send a future Labour government "naked into the conference chamber"

As it's the daily mail, on the same page it says that some ex Tory minister has been arrested for sexual assault.

It's just a peculiar thing to do. Putting claimed by Argentina and UK? So what, it is UK sovereign territory.

There are hundreds of disputed terrorists around the world, so why single out this one? I notice Gibraltar for example just says UK. Not worth getting angry about but it is a very odd thing to put on a globe.

The globes gone now anyway.

Edit: Territories not terrorists

So, there's a small corner of England where woke shall forever mean support for Argentina's claim on the Malvinas, and green means support for Argentina's claim on the Malvinas, and SJW means mean support for Argentina's claim on the Malvinas, and doughty marines are forever going over the top on Stanley. Bless. But like Basil Fawlty and the Germans, it does highlight the need for another war soon! That one's getting stale. Perhaps the Duchy of Gran Fenwick could be persuaded to invade Diego Garcia?

I suspect the globe is made for m&s by an external supplier, and that they mistakenly sourced a map image showing the Malvinas. It’s not something anyone is likely to check, and was probably not noticed by the supplier or m&s until it was pointed out by the Mail. They’ll have to bin the product now, and get it made with a corrected map.

Has it not been replaced with the "Midnight Tour of Helmland" stickers at this stage ?

Helps differentiate one bunch of murdering British soldiers from another, I suppose.

Closest physical place to Rockall is Soay in Scotland.
Closest habitable place to Rockall is St Kilda in Scotland.
Closest permanently inhabited place to Rockall is North Uist in Scotland.

Ireland's claim to Rockall is that it was formed when some mythical giant threw a stone into the sea.

That's me convinced.

Though to be fair, and despite what many to here seem to think, Ireland does not actually claim ownership.

Seen a couple of documentaries about St Kilda. Looks a lovely place. Any prospect of it being rehabited?

Our ownership goes back to when we invaded Scotland, settled it, and left it with its more interesting folk.

These islands look lovely, and they are on about two days a year [/hyperbole]. The rest of the time they are pretty forbidding.

Every summer we get people in our holiday let in the Highlands wanting to come and live here. The response is always 'come back in January'.
