Run you bastard!
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
10 more metres and Reece would have got him. Good try landers. Cracking game this
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
Reece made it a real contest but Nareki hung on for the try

WTF was that kick from Aaron Smith?

The other bloke is the Kiwi version of Bruce McAvaney.trapper wrote:Shut up Justin...
On the plus side, he does talk the game up.

Crusaders being raped in the tackle with the Clan getting heaps of turnovers

really enjoyed that Ash Dixon piece in the pre-match...
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
Landers really need to hold the line for the last minute
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
The crusaders “treating it like a final” penalty makes it 13-17 at halftime.

A good half from the visitors. They'll need to pull out the extra lungs for the 2nd half up-gear from the Crusaders though. It's coming.

Crusaders: so good at scoring just before the break. Highlanders: so good at coughing up points.JPNZ wrote:The crusaders “treating it like a final” penalty makes it 13-17 at halftime.
One of the stark differences between the sides.

Shame for the Blues that despite a great season their last game means nothing. But that is life and sport. Should have got it done against the Canes and or the Saders when they had the chance.
If you hadn't noticed, I expect the Saders to pull away in the second half.

Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
Highlanders are playing as well as they can. The Crusaders are playing badly. Yet there is still only a four point margin. The Highlanders are winning breakdown turnovers for fun, and the Crusaders will need to get more cleaners to the breakdown and more quickly if they are going to have a chance of winning. Both halfbacks had good first halves.
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
The Clan deserve their lead at half time. I expect the Saders to get a lot more ball 2nd half and send in a few more blokes into the ruck to clean out. The big body of Romano might help the cause there.

Nice that our lads have the lead. It won't last though. When the Crusaders get the ball, they seem to be able to get through our first line far too easily.

That sunstrike looks like it's getting progressively worse. You wonder if the accuracy might drop for the Saders second half.
I recall the old Lancaster park having a similar aspect. I might be wrong though.

Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
Let me just say here that I love these 3:35 pm kickoffs.
The Highlanders are going to have keep going at 100% to have a chance. The Crusaders backs seem to make easy yards.

Entertaining first half. And I can report that the Garage Project Sunrise Valley hazy IPA is a banger. Too bloody easy for an 8% er!
Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug
Hunt's kicking to touch does my head in though...

Re: Crusaders vs Highlanders: MATCH THREAD: Sunday 9th Aug

My friend's sound feed seems to be about 30 seconds behind the visual.

Addington is north-west to south-east and Lancaster Park ran north to south. Not entirely dissimilar.sonic_attack wrote:That sunstrike looks like it's getting progressively worse. You wonder if the accuracy might drop for the Saders second half.

I would so laugh if that miss cost them the game. Cocky.

A lot of play is across field - if you are a Chief anyway
