They are still doing well to keep themselves in striking distance.

The Chiefs are close enough to win this match, but the Hurricanes attack looks much more dangerous.

Having that winger hugging the touch line is so dangerous. Nice to see someone doing it other than Reece.

I can’t see the Chiefs coming back sadly. The wife and my twins are all at the game, I’m stuck in the BOP (by choice tbf)

He had time to fudge around in goal to rub in just how ridiculous a try that was.

Fark. Come on Canes, discipline. You're letting your season dribble away on the back of laziness and stupidity.

What an atrocious season for the chiefs. 0-8 and Dmac entirely ineffective through the whole lot of it.

The Chiefs season ends at 0-8. They were competitive in all their matches but this looks like a team that has no spirit, or cohesive plan in attack. It's basically 3 or 4 hit-ups into traffic, and then pass it to McKenzie to run 30 metres sideways.

Cheifs gave it their all but weren't able to sustain momentum.

Canes could have been smarter at times but some good individual performances.

We didn't lose it there - we had such inexperienced tight forwards that winning was never an option. We needed some good luck at times when we got bad luck and those combined were what stuffed us. Leading up to last week I think we were leading in breaks and metres ran.

The backs seem to have stopped just running though as though Gats has tried to get some order into the mayhem - it doesn't work like that.

Can't fault the Chiefs guts and endeavour, but for me McKenzie has been the biggest disappointment. Weber was also below par earlier, but has stepped up as the season progressed.

I've been really impressed by Boshier, Slater, Nankaville (sp) and young Trask has grown as the season got older. So not all doom and gloom.

A little bit more front foot ball and DMac would look a lot better. It was 10, 12, 13 I was thinking was not particularly inspiring today from the Chiefs.

I really don't understand the chiefs attacking from deep behind the gainline. That stuff doesn't work anymore and hasn't for years. Defences are too savvy for that these days, it's a momentum killer.

Chiefs totally disorganized on attack.
Not only that their passing was among the worst I've ever seen from a professional side.
Hardly once did I see pass someone could run onto.

McKenzie sadly looks a spent force after his knee injury.
He's not quite Milner Skudder slow, but whereas last year you would back him to be almost anyone on the outside, he hardly ever gets defenders with pace now.
I hope he can regain it, but it doesn't look promising.

Gatland you would have to say has been a total flop. If there was a team pattern there I couldn't see it.

Forgot to mention the Canes, another good performance, Perenara in the form of his life, setting the backline alight beautifully.

It helps to be quick over the first few metres, but all the same, he's certainly not afraid to take on the line nor is he too bad at it. I wouldn't mind seeing Booth getting a little more time on the filed with TJ spending more time at 10.

Some short memories around here. Anyone remember a team named the Blues for the best part of the last 10 years?

Haven't seen the match yet but sad news about McKenzie. Hopefully it's just a temporary slump. It's hard for a player like him to look good in a dysfunctional, misfiring team.
