FT: Lions 25-30 Bulls

Congrats Bulls. Good win

The Lions just fractionally off the pace at the moment. Hopefully they will pick it up during the second round

The Sharks have confirmed that one of their senior players has tested positive for COVID-19.

It has resulted in a delay in announcing their team for the Super Rugby Unlocked Round Six encounter with Griquas in Kimberley on Friday.

Coach Sean Everitt confirmed that three players have been ruled out of the matchday 23 as a result of the positive case – one in the starting XV and two from the bench.

However, they have not named the positive case or his two ‘contacts’.

The player who tested positive will isolate for 14 days, while those identified as having close contact with him are isolating for the next seven days – before being tested again.

From jens teams
Sharks to get the away win but no runaway could be close Griquas dangerous
Stormers read our jokes about them and made amends
They played well enough as of late to clinch this one
Cheetahs lost 3 in the contract period. Bernard Jansen van Rensburg overseas Walt Steenkamp at Bulls
and their nr8 Wiese overseas
Lions not as much pressure on them as against Bulls last weekend and decision making only shortcoming under pressure but Jimmy can challenge Steval Pumas always fitness strength. 18jr old Helpmekaar Kollege nr10 of last year Botes on the bench for Jimmy. Lions have more try scorers also note they moved Ruan Dreyer to loosehead. Lions beat Steval Pumas in the covid warmup by 20 but then Steval Pumas lost by a try to Stormers and had the Sharks in sixes and sevens until Bosch steadied the ship

Stormers look like a bunch of laaitie against an experienced Vrystaat. Luckily we have some Grey stock in Prinsloo and Theunissen who played together.

Cheetahs have a Paul Roser in Chris Smith

The Super Rugby Unlocked match between the Lions and Pumas scheduled for Ellis Park on Saturday has been postponed in line with COVID-19 protocols.

The decision was taken as part of prescribed precautions advised by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) to limit the risk of further infection in the rugby community.

The intention is to reschedule the match as soon as possible.

The decision was triggered on Friday following receipt of two further positive results from a second batch of tests after one player from the Pumas returned a positive result in scheduled testing earlier in the week.

Contact tracing protocols were followed which identified that all the infected players were engaged in a scrumming session. As a result, a number of the Pumas forwards have been placed in quarantine for ten days.

The Pumas are scheduled to conclude their Super Rugby Unlocked programme at Loftus Versfeld on November 20. Plans are already being made to reschedule both Pumas’ matches against the Lions and Bulls.

The Griquas match against the Sharks (Friday, 13 November) and the Stormers meeting with the Cheetahs (Saturday, 14 November) are unaffected.
