Wins seem right although I think the Lions v Bulls match is going to be tighter if the Lions forward pack can compete in the scrums and at the breakdowns.

The Vodacom Super Rugby Unlocked third-round match between the Lions and Cheetahs, which was called off in line with Covid-19 protocols, has been declared a draw.

SA Rugby confirmed this news on Wednesday, stating it was ‘as a result of the inability to reschedule the match’.

Each team will be awarded two points.

[Hawes] Fourie explained why the game ultimately wasn’t rescheduled.

‘There was an opportunity. They gave us three other dates to play this game, but it would have been difficult. It would have meant that we would’ve played three games in eight days, and this wouldn’t be ideal anyway.

‘It might have jeopardised our chances in one of the other games if we played that match on a Wednesday.

Used to drink Black Label as a youngster as it was the only cold beer in the pub fridge on a Saturday night (Lions was the popular beer then, followed by Castle)

also drank a few and will again because of their sponsorship of our rugby but Castle was in. I still hear one guy in the pub with his Lion lagers cheering the Lions to go all the way with Lion lager. Prefer Windhoek lager now. Got this in my head that it is not full of 'preserveermiddels' as breweries. Still not sure if it's true but i got used to it and reckon its a healthy beer. Seems the SRU is merely the first round of the CC with a trophy for the first round leaders - same teams playing, SRU points get carried over and the venues are reversed.

I have it that the leader of SupeRugby is the winner. The points get carried over into the new competition and the winner of that wins the Currie Cup. 2 Separate competitions.

SRU is Round 1 of the CC. Whether they call it SR and give a gratuitous to the leader after Round 1 doesn't matter. The CC the overriding comp. Look at the fixtures

Incorrect. Yes, SupeRugby's points do get carried over to the Currie Cup, but it's different competitions with separate trophies.

Wins by the Sharks, Lions and Stormers will set up the competition for the Currie Cup Round 1 trophy quite nicely
