Ginger is holding back. His #3 isn't going forward and he'll get penalised if he swings the scrum before the whole scrum moves forward. Like last week when Sti held Frans on the other side

Massive kick , still going like a boeing once over. Bosch kicked a 60m at sealevel Sharks Bulls. Still watching the game replay after loadshed so not sure if Morne' Steyn or Bosch himself beat that.
Impressive line kicks from Swanepoel aswell.
Good win for the Lions! Cheetahs will have to improve their tackling if they want to beat the Pumas in Mombella

The Currie Cup fourth round match between Griquas and the Bulls, scheduled for Kimberley on Saturday, has been cancelled in line with COVID-19 protocols.

The decision was taken on Thursday after players and management from the Bulls returned positive tests for COVID-19 this week.

As a result of the cancellation of the match, the encounter will be declared a draw and the teams will each receive two log points.

Don't you think Bulls should have gone with some B players in the place of the tested positive players ? Ones that doesn't have to self -isolate. They would have got a shot at 4 points at least or is that option impossible come covid protocols ?

It's not about the match 23 players only but about Covid in the squad and the contact between squad members, so no, they can't just send another match 23

he Vodacom Bulls’ hopes of capturing the Carling Currie Cup took a blow when their match against Tafel Lager Griquas was called off because of a number of Covid-19 positive tests among players.

And their match next week in the competition against the Xerox Lions is also under threat, with the entire squad quarantined and several players placed in isolation after testing positive for at least 10 days.

While other games have already been called off this season, this is the first time it hits the leaders of the competition, and opens up some interesting debates over the next few weeks.

For one, the Bulls have a five point lead at the top of the standings, and the cancellation of the game will mean that they take two points from a game they would normally be targeting for a victory.

This opens the door for the Cell C Sharks, who are in second place, and technically, before this weekend have two games in hand with seven points to make up. Essentially if they win those two games they can overtake the Bulls and make the final weeks in the lead-up to the playoffs look very interesting indeed.

Beautiful break by Simelane leading to Tiaan Swanepoel's try.
These two and Bosch can play for boks.

Time for predictions again. Sharks knowing the Bulls Lions game is a 50/50 even if they do get to play, will be motivated to make the semis.
Western Province and Griquas. WP team selection awaits but homeground advantage and if the likes of Pretorius and Ruhan Nel are playing in the backline they should win. Senatla's injury a setback
Bulls Lions if it go-ahead a 50/50

I enjoyed both games this week-end as a neutral. The Lions just seem to have loads of gees and enjoying themselves. The Sharks forward pack struggled in particular the front row - although I am a believer that all 8 players carry the responsibility and not just one prop.

The dates for the Vodacom Bulls’ upcoming fixtures against the Lions and Pumas have been moved in light of positive tests in the Pretoria team’s camp.

SA Rugby on Monday confirmed that the Bulls’ home match against the Lions – which was originally scheduled to kick-off this Saturday at 7pm on 26 December – has been postponed to 7pm on Wednesday 6 January because of infection in the Bulls’ squad.

Their subsequent match against the Pumas in Nelspruit, scheduled to start two days later on Friday, 8 January, will also be moved back as a result and will now kick-off on Sunday, 10 January at 4pm.

The Pretoria-based team saw their fixture against Griquas in Kimberley last Saturday called off and the match was declared a draw with both teams getting two log points.

The Currie Cup semi-finals will still take place on Saturday, 16 January, with the final set to held a week later on Saturday, 23 January.
