Wandisile Simelane is coming of age, gone seems to be the selfishness, trying to do it on his own. His ability to step off the right and the left foot as well as take an outside gap makes him dangerous

If one look at the quality of the opposition.
It was the Springbok's WC final centre he stepped.
Hadn't seen any centre of any country in the WC done that to him!

Bulls Lions the 2 teams to beat. Their 6 Jan. clash...iI cam't make any predictions. Both have great pacls and backlines. Simelane & Swanepoel coming in the line make Lions dangerous

The Sharks are facing an anxious wait to hear if their Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs on Sunday will go ahead following a troubled week of Covid testing and retesting.

The Sharks’ routine testing earlier this week returned a handful of positive results and that meant they had to have a second round of testing the next day to see if their were further positives — the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) needs to see if the outbreak has been contained or if it is on the increase, and this effects their decision on whether to allow the game in question to go ahead.
If the opposition agrees to the change in dates, this is well within the rules of the competition, and on Thursday the Sharks and Cheetahs might well be discussing something similar.

The problem with moving games is that you can end up playing two games within the space of a week — as will be the case for the Bulls — so playing a game on time is first prize.

The Sharks will field a team in Bloemfontein on Sunday, come what may!

Despite the cloud of doubt over an outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the Sharks camp, they will fulfil their Currie Cup Round Five fixture.

Eduard Coetzee, the Sharks Chief Executive Officer, confirmed to @rugby365com that they have delayed the announcement of their team till Friday – due to some “late fitness results”.

The Sharks went through their routine COVID-19 testing earlier this week, then returned a handful of positive results and had a second round of testing.

However, regardless of the outcome of the second batch of tests, the Sharks will field a team on Sunday.

“We have already drafted in a group of our Under-21 players,” Coetzee told this website.

“The National Institute for Communicable Diseases appears to be happy with our protocols,” the Sharks boss said.

Good move on the log by WP but do they really play to their full potential? I mean when one look at their potent line up, I thought that they would score 6 tries more than Griquas and that would have given them 2 bonus points.

Two dubious tries - WP vs Griquas Currie Cup 2020

To be fair to Mbonambi (and the ref), Sevu Reece (Crusaders) scored a similar try against the Lions in Super Rugby in 2019 and the then TMO awarded the try as he wasn't held - https://youtu.be/rGq3FcBaLQw . SA rugby law guru, the late Paul Dobson, agreed with the decision - https://rugby365.com/laws-referees/law- ... ns/154568/

Great win for Cheetahs rugby. Showed a lot of desire and grit. Sharks looked very disjointed maybe due to not practicing enough as a result of Covid protocols? Dissapointing by them. Tight five struggled again.

No, at 6. The hooker was poor. Meant they struggled with Richardson not playing at #2

The Cheetahs’ home game against WP will be on the SuperSport Grandstand and Rugby channels (201 and 211), while the match between the Sharks and Griquas in Durban will play out on SuperSport’s Action channel (210).

The game between the Pumas and Lions in Nelspruit will continue as scheduled at 2pm and will be broadcast live on the SuperSport Grandstand and Rugby channels.
