Post by Normac »

This is my super rugby form team of the season. A few tough choices

15. Will Jordan
14. Sevu Reece
13. Peter Umaga-Jensen
12. Jack Goodhue
11. Mark Telea
10. Richie Mo’unga
9. Aaron Smith
8. Hoskins Sotutu
7. Duplessis Kirifi
6. Shannon Frizell
5. Pari Pari Parkinson
4. Patrick Tuipolotu
3. Ofa Tu’ungafasi
2. Codie Taylor
1. Joe Moody

MVP: Mo’unga
MIP: Umaga-Jensen

I though TJ Perenara would have been a shoo in. But I haven't watched as many of Aaron Smiths games as closely.

And Jordie Barrett has to be there.

My immediate reaction was most important, which seemed redundant though I guess you could argue it was different to mvp.

Over the comp ,have to be Jordie at 15, Reiko Ioane at 13, and Smith at 9 I think. And I think 7 could be tossed up between 3 or 4 players, Papali'i, Hunt and Christie have all played a good number of top games.

Agree with most of that, but not convinced on Reiko at 13, he looked better with Faiane alongside him, not so much without.

Some real talent has emerged from the competition. Both the Blues and Highlanders 8s are top drawer, Parkinson has lots of growing to do but looks to have something, Jordan is a silky runner, reminds me of Cory Jane and I wa really impressed with Josh Ioani at 10.

The team in stuff today is very different.

Probably a sign of good things that there are so many positions up for debate.

That team looks spot on to me. Certainly close to the form team of the comp.
