Calving was ages ago. It's silage season now, ffs.

It was that old hag Brenda whatshername. I found it in the end.

I'm sure Michael Corcoran made it sound more interesting than it was. He seemed to think SOB, POM, Faletau and Kruis were excellent. Anything of note happen?

Toby and Vunipola the pick of the forwards imo. Backs turgid as fudge. Sexton played pretty well, took it right to the line and put a few guys through gaps but nothing converted. Their only try came from a massive North fudge up, they barely had a sniff otherwise. POM made 3 carries and 1 tackle apparently. #unseen.

I'd be berating Warburton had he done the same. Still, he comes across really clearly on the ref mic

He's breaking records all over the shop, last week was most line breaks against a tier 1 country, and today put him on most tries scored for Ireland in a season.

Pleased for the Irish lads today. His stats may not be great but I thought POM managed the game and ref really well. With AWJ, Warburton and Best not making the XV he should be captain. Delighted Hendo showed well again. No doubt he will be starting against the chiefs with Hill??? most likely but if things go pear shaped hopefully he can get a test. Kruis and Itoje were excellent today. Treadwell had a few good moments for Ireland. Good day for the NH so far

Oh ffs! It was most clean breaks by a Tier 1 player in a test match, not most breaks against a Tier 1 nation.

He'll be tired after this tour. 9 tries in a season is a record for an Irish international apparently.

Its tiresome because if it were such an easy feat anyone would have done it. I'm surprised given just how strong NZ wingers gave been for so long that it wasn't one of them

Watched the first half:

Healy - getting through plenty of donkey work
N Scanell - really warming to this guy, he's a missle in the tackle
Ryan - another hard scrummaging, mobile, ball-handling prop off the production line
locks - solid but unspectacular
Ruddock - clears up everything
Leavy - reads the game pretty well
Conan - bullocking running from him and busy at the breakdown

McGrath - maybe a bit slow to get the ball away, although it wasn't the cleanest of ball presentation
Jackson - controlled territory and flawless goal kicking
Earls - two levels above any other player on the pitch, playing better than any winger in the Lions squad
R Scannell - maybe sat too deep at 2nd receiver when we looked to counter attack, but takes a nice flat position as 1st receiver
Ringrose - little chance in attack but he's a brilliant technical tackler
Conway - looked sharp and saved a try early on that Daverage, Bowe or Trimble would have been outpaced on
Zebo - some nice touches with hand and boot but too much shuffling into contact

(Obviously Japan were outgunned, esp with 14 men)

As an aside, I'd like to see Conway and Zebo switch positions. I just think Conway has more appreciation of space and field position than Zebo
And more purpose when he does hit the line.

The mic on the pitch is super during the match. Just got a decent 'AH FÛCK YA' during a lineout at 15 minutes. We do moan a lot at the ref it has to be said.

Lads, I'm slightly out of the rugby loop these days. Is there anywhere online that has extended highlights of the Maori game? Looking for a bit more than just 3 minutes of the scores.

The full thing has gone up on youtube the past few matches. Just search lions, restrict it to long videos and added today. They're usually recorded from a tv screen but the quality is pretty good.

Grand, by my reckoning he has another 5/8 to go, Hendo has done enough on tour to show he should be our senior lock now.
