It's early afternoon here but I might do the same.

Santa gone. Handy innings, but we needed a lot more from the top order to be anywhere near competitive.

time to take the dogs for a long walk

a couple of decent overs and a target of 230 would be good

edit: southee goes!

223 all out on the penultimate ball of the innings.

England will mow down this meagre total with 20 overs to spare. :(

I definitely feel a check of bank accounts is required.

Kudos to Bairstow. Back to back centuries

We've been throrughly outclassed this series, only a few miraculous spells from the like and Sodhi and Taylor have kept us anywhere close.

England are a classy one day outfit. I doubt we'll put up much of a fight in the tests either.

And Bairstow shows a bit of mercy by getting himself out.

Do we have 11 blokes on the field or 2?

Great catch by de Grandhomme!

There's been some quality ground fielding in this series. Unfortunately, our catching has let us down at important times.

What I want to know is who changed the pitch at half-time?

This game & match thread is boring.

I'm going to try and pick a fight in the Aussie v SA one.

Wow how in the fudge did Nicholls drop that? My dead grandmother could have caught that. Our catching has gone to shite big time.

I think it's our biggest problem. It's one of several, but it's our most pressing.

I don't mind losing as England is a quality side and deserved winners but the tame way we rolled over didn't do the series justice or England as victors harder challenge to overcome would have been more satisfying. Doubt many of their supporters will watch the match when they get up bit of an anticlimax.

Well played England. The truth is if we didn't have Taylor, England would have walked this series. Thanks for showing where we need to improve...almost everywhere. Also shows how bad Pakistan and the Windies were.

No doubt, but our bowlers just got pasted.

Well done, England. We had our moments throughout the series, but you were consistently the better side.

They had a shit total to defend. :(
