Spot on, we were heading for the pair of Mealls but got to about 650m and decided to turn back. Just too deep to enjoy the walk and not a technically difficult excursion to warrant all that effort. We wild camped at the sign which says, “Danger no snowploughs used beyond here”. Had an amazing camp in a glorious setting and then headed up the following morning.

I can confirm my M&S tyres on the RR need replacing - thinking Duratec or Wranglers or similar. I did also manage a bit of towing back at home - amusingly an X3 on runflats. The Kia Sportage behind was fine but the BMW would have caused a long jam had I not driven down to help him up to the top.

Aren't Wranglers and Duratec the same thing?

I had Wranglers on my Grand Cherokee long time ago. Great offroad, poor on. General Grabbers are the tyre of choice on Land Rover products in this part of the world for general on / off road use. I've used AT, AT2 and prefer the AT3. The AT2 looks more aggressive but I've never found anything for my needs the AT3 can't cope with, and it is better on road. Though the AT2 may be better in conditions I'm not brave enough to attempt. However, at the weekend the Disco with AT3s got up a mile slope when a Mitsubishi with huge chunky tyres (do not know what) could only manage 100m of the shallow slope at the bottom.

Not sure there's a version for a Rolls though.

Farking hell, he does't just have any tyres, they are M&S tyres!

Ha ha - that made me spit my tea out...

Edin, yes you’re right - I’ve spent a bit of time working through the tyre reviews and got them around my neck a bit. It was Duratec (aka Wrangler) which I was struggling to find in 255/55 R20. But I found the General Grabber in AT, AT2 and AT3 for a decent price. Was leaning towards the 3...

Very nice. I'm guessing D stands for Diesel. Why did you buy a Diesel car in the current climate?

Having had to accept that good old RCA analogue audio outputs are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, had to get something to cope with these newfangled digital audio ones on the PS and blu-ray etc...

No need for 7 channel surround sound, just stereo speakers for me.

Not sure if pic will show. Photobucket seems to want money. What do people use now?

Yeah yeah you pay a premium but if you aren't that techie and only want to browse forums/youtube, the usability kicks arse. Shits all over windows and is very fast.

Because the thing starts up when I want it to and I don't have to wait 40 minutes. Windows might be better with the tech stuff that is way above my head, but I don't need it for that - I'm not looking to code for Elon Musk.

Yeah, it's not bad, at least I can back it up to my computer. Better as a phone too, no more complaints people can't hear me. Better internet experience also. But the Windows Nokia had much the better swipe keyboard. Also took me a while to find a suitable substitute for OneNote. I'd like this Xperia Z5 Compact with the Nokia keyboard. Fer shure, the pink one with a burgundy leather case from Snakehive.

I'm not a network engineer but I hate them too. I know people who can't save a file on them because they can't find folders.

I quote a friend who used to work at the BT Martlesham labs where lots of interesting tech was developed.

Mrs W went to Skoda with oe of my sons to look for a sensible small car for him to learn to drive in. She came back with one of these. I am very impressed, but at my age I feel a bit of an idiot driving it.
