Wellington Cabal is Best Cabal? Tuesday 19/11/19
For one night only. Fat Old Git in Wellington and in need of food and a quiet beverage (or 3).
I have to work the following day so can't stay out or misbehave too much.
Who's in?

Excellent. Any venue suggestions? Last one I attended was at the Fork and Brewer iirc.
Wilderbeast, we'll work out a special secret sign or similar closer to the time so we can recognize each other. Even if it's just a post on the night saying fat bastard at the corner table under the picture of the dogs playing poker.

Good idea, though I was looking forward to roaming the bar asking if anyone knew a “Fat Old Git”

You have to be careful with that though, otherwise you might suddenly realize you're sitting at a mumsnet table.jambanja wrote:I thought the standard greeting was "Hi I'm from the internet"Wilderbeast wrote:Good idea, though I was looking forward to roaming the bar asking if anyone knew a “Fat Old Git”
I think at one stage we just used to ask people if they were coog.

At least one of these criminal looking types is usually hanging around, lurking....Fat Old Git wrote:You have to be careful with that though, otherwise you might suddenly realize you're sitting at a mumsnet table.jambanja wrote:I thought the standard greeting was "Hi I'm from the internet"Wilderbeast wrote:Good idea, though I was looking forward to roaming the bar asking if anyone knew a “Fat Old Git”

Holiday. Catching up with jdogscoop and other chums for one of our annual punting competitions. I'm taking in a day at the Aus v Pakistan test on the Thursday of that week too for a nice little bonus.Fat Old Git wrote:Nice. Holiday or work?

Kiweez, yes that's the one. Why did I think GB was there? He was an earlier one at the same venue I think.

Bugger - I leave Wellington that morning to come home.
Down doing child minding while the daughter buggers off to Queenstown for a marathon.

I reckon you should stay another day just to confirm she's all ok after doing the marathon, but perhaps give her some space in the evening to re bond with the children...Enzedder wrote:Bugger - I leave Wellington that morning to come home.

Yeah I wish but that is what Monday 18th is for dammit. Gotta get the Mrs back to work on Wednesday in order to keep me in the manner to which I have become accustomed - so to speak.

I'm in.
Shame you can't make it GON and Enz.
Isn't Short Man Syndrome luring around about at that time?
