Is that a fox or a wolf on your leg? Looks a bit like a fox with wolf teeth. Or a cute looking wolf!

If that's his leg, those are amongst the skinniest calves I've seen.

Oh, maybe it’s one of Sard’s arm. Kinda looks looks like a calve.

I always thought Sards added nothing of value to this forum, but fuck me, every time I think this thread has run it's course, he delivers again.

A gap-tooth, prison-scratching-quality grim reaper, wielding what appears to be a 24 inch-double-ended-rubber-dong is exactly what the New Year needed. I particularly love how the background fails to integrate with any of the surrounding tattoos. It seems like it might also have 6 fingers.

Is the skeleton holding up a ladies bonnet? Maybe we’re missing some important angles to get the full scene.

You need a video of the entire arm to get the effect the reaper has in finishing the arm. I was going to add the skulls below the dragon but we fitted them at the bottom of the arm by the hand to close a gap there. The dragon poses a lot of problems on the arm but we discussed it at length and the artist and his manager came up with a great plan. At my next sitting they are going to give my Gargoyle a granite look and extend it to close the gaps. And fill in the wolf a little more. We don't want to add skulls or snakes to fill it as it will be too busy. You can see the purple pen marks where the planned work will be done. The reaper finished at the point of my sleeve which means the arm is done. After they redo my medusa to make it more 3D.
Then I can start the next arm which is going to be Comic book characters starting with the Punisher .

Where do you see 6 fingers.

Nah bro, I've got a werewolf riding a Harley through a minefield whilst swigging a bottle of Jack Daniels. There are swords extending horizontally from the centre of the wheel and a 12 gauge in the saddle bag. This is set around a background vista of an erupting volcano during a big thunderstorm. Spike (the Werewolf) has just swerved around a bolt of lightning to the clear delight of the 3 buxom wenches looking on lustily.

Sounds like a great theme...do it.

I am going to get rid of my dragon. I am discussing it currently and we are going to extend the Reaper down over the dragon and add skulls.

Then it's just my Medusa which he has some kind of 3D plan for which he and the shop are taking on as a project for their marketing. Wont cost a cent. Then instead of going comic characters on my other arm I am going to leave it clean and do a Ghost Rider across my back. Just trying to find the right one. I love Skulls...all over my T shirts and around my bar in decanters etc. My charcoal oven even has a werewolf skull on the door. So I want the Skull to be the hero but I want the chains and the bike with flaming tyres too...going my back because I don't feel like shaving my calves just to see a tattoo. Very happy with the crowd we are working with currently. They are busy with a huge watercolor dragon for my wife and doing a great job.

If anyone has ideas .....?

BTW my son loves the tat idea I got here and covered a gap with....

Very sad to lose my dragon but it just doesn't fit in and is making finishing the arm a problem.

Image

those markings are mine btw...just to communicate my idea. The artist we are working with loves doing skulls so we are in the same space

Dragon gone...I now have tattooed skulls.

That dragon just did not fit the theme and I couldn't wait to get it off my arm

Probably more likely to get an infection from needle / improper care (why it's important to go to a shop that's inspected and follow dutiful artists' aftercare instructions carefully). I've been tattooed, probably, on ten different occasions from age 16 to 38 and have never had any issues. I assume from the amount of people getting tattooed these days, if there was a major concern, we'd have heard by now.

Incidentally, I just listened to a history podcast about tattooing today... https://play.acast.com/s/dansnowshistor ... ed7b3c8870 ... I knew this practice existed, but still cringed when he said Inuit traditional tattoos were done by pulling a sinew thread underneath the skin, rather than the piercing or tapping method used by most other cultures!

He's working on dispelling the myth that it's mostly been a lower classes thing. I've shared a pic or two of upper crust either on this thread or others (Lady Churchill, Tsar Nick II), but seems that many more would have had than we thought. Victorian clothing styles and practices simply wouldn't have shown even the ones we're likely to see by today's standards.

Cheers...that's just the one perspective. Which needed finishing off. I have 3 different perspectives. As you turn the arm. I am very happy with the shop and artist we have finally set on..my wife and I...its a conversation with the manager and artist and myself over everything that gets done. The manager doesn't do much ink anymore but is a complete all round artist that works on a lot of different mediums and I respect his input.
