Give Sarries credit. 12 internationals missing and still winning an away quarter against the best side in Europe

Leinster did brilliantly to turn it into a one score game with their good 20 min after the half. The quarter aside, Saracens were just so much better.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Need to learn the lessons we refuse to learn
Sexton to pasture
Toner to pasture
Larmour is not a fullback
Scum needs serious work
Lineout maul woeful and yet we kept using it.

Beaten by the better side.. Not good enough.. What a gut punch.. Ah well miles ahead of the other provinces.. But skant solace now. I'm off to get drink myself silly.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Actually covid won it for them. Top seed in the pools and we get the other best team, then we effectively lose home advantage.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
So Robyn McBride what has he brought.
Our scrum has regressed

Why was McCall not talked about for Irish coach?
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Their 3 was offside at every single one of our lineout mauls. They got away with it though.

The scrum the difference in the end. Just left is too much to do.

Cracking game, that dire first half really cost Leinster.
I think Keenan is the winger that should be in the Irish squad from the 2 on show today, tidy player.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Brutal defeat. Leinster could have won it but with that scrum they didn’t deserve to. End of the road for a few.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Meh, best side lost.
Gave up too many stupid points.
Sarries didn’t need to play to win.

Helps that Sarries have played double the number of games since the restart as well tbf

Standout for me alright. Small but impressive body of work from him this 'season'.Mr. Very Popular wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:57 pm Cracking game, that dire first half really cost Leinster.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Didn't see any of the second half, from the score it looks like Leinster at least threw a punch but you can't get f**ked like that in the first half and have a chance of winning. Ah well, better Saracens clearly still better and Leinster with a bit to go

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I don't think him becoming the Irish coach will make players like Itoje or the Vunipola brothers naturalizing Irish.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Credit to VDF when he came on. Stood deep and hit the line at pace. Tackled Vunipola well also.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Luke McGrath is too slow. Thought we did improve with JGP
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
All of that is just dressing though.
You won't win shit with your scrum taking a beating like that.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Sexton Toner and Cronin great servants bit end of the line now.
Lowe, Henshaw and Larmour all big reps but not doing the business when it counts
McGrath? What happened to him?
Sarries are the best team in Europe. Showed it today. Beaten by a better team.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
This game would usually be the rusty game against Munster prior to the first European game so we'd have been fine next week!Ulsters Red Hand wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:58 pmHelps that Sarries have played double the number of games since the restart as well tbf
There was definitely a cohesion issue but doesn't explain everything.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Ref made up his mind early but black 3 was boring in all day. We didn’t do anything about it though.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Leinster scrum is actually pretty good and probably one of the best in the competition.
It's just that Sarries pack is exceptional

We had more than a chance. We should have won really.
