Re: What Scared the Boks...
Boks would probably have finished stone motherless last based on the last few games. Wise move on their part to contract covid and avoid having to play...

Listen, you don't demand the World Champions turn up at your tournament. The World Champions turn up if they want to. We will take our preparation for the Lions tour and next RWC our own way.
Re: What Scared the Boks...
Pity the Bokke did not send their u21 team to participate in this event, as they could've killed two birds with one stone.

Its all good because we helped our greatest of rugbyfriends Los Pumas in getting a shot at winning the Tri-Nations for a change

Re: What Scared the Boks...
Whether we like it or not, the pedigree (or lack thereof) of a rugby nation is defined by their RWC performances. Why are coaches appointed in four year cycles ending at the RWC, etc, etc? Eventually, said pedigree will almost solely be defined by the RWCs. Back in the day, the British Home Championship was a fiercely contested annual football tournament between England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland. It is still the oldest football tournament (100 years) on the globe...but nobody gives a flying f@ck about it now after it was terminated in 1984 season. The same will happen with the RC/TN.
...but look on the bright side; third place is pretty bloody good mate!

Current RWC champs, current Rugby Championship champs and current B&I Lions series champs. It would be rude not to let someone else have a go at winning something....good luck for the TN mate.Jay Cee Gee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:32 pmYour team couldn't even bring themselves to turn up, I don't think you get to talk about the present....Vleis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:27 pmNote: if you trade on past glories, it suggests your present does not count for much

Methinks that you do not understand the definition of "current". I'll help you with another example: NZ are the current Blesidloe Cup champs, which is a two horse race between a mediocre team and a very mediocre team.Jay Cee Gee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:54 pmTell us again about trading on past glories.Vleis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:37 pmCurrent RWC champs, current Rugby Championship champs and current B&I Lions series champs. Re: What Scares the Boks...
What scares a bok... that is a real philosophical question for those long nights at the campfire on a buffalo hunt.
I walked past a tv showing a game this morning and two teams were playing. Yes the one team looked scared when a blue and white jersey nr6 plugged the ball out of their hands in the loosescrum and glared at them and then at his bench. Closest i can resembke to what is scared. I ignored, diassociate myself with it immediately and went on my way.
Perhaps a real lion on a camping night out. Not a B + I Lion or a circus lion but a real lion approaching one in your sleeping bag next to campfire can be classified as scared but then again every young South African grew up with the medicine to deal with that scarriness and we call it muti or boereraat and it's a bit of salt that we have handy for such a circumstance because one just have to throw the salt on the lion's tail and he will run for his life or if you don't have salt handy just call out loud: " Bakkies Botha come here! " and he runs too

Apparently Nicholas Sanchez trained for this by running laps around his house during lockdown. Boks spent all their time prancing around the place like bitches. On the flight to Australia Ledezma refused a stopover in South Africa because his players might become soft.

Re: What Scares the Boks...
You didn't turn up because of safety concerns. Its easy to say that you can hand a real lion when you're holding an elephant gun and two African tour guides with spears by your side.ZuluBoy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 2:11 pm What scares a bok... that is a real philosophical question for those long nights at the campfire on a buffalo hunt.

Re: What Scares the Boks...
You seem terribly excited for a supporter of a team that was recently thrashed by a record margin and which came 2nd in a two horse race**. Mate, I think you need to pour a nice warm cup of tea and then take a nap.CrazyIslander wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 2:13 pm Apparently Nicholas Sanchez trained for this by running laps around his house during lockdown. Re: What Scares the Boks...
Whoever told you that bulldusted you because there were no stopover flights allowed in sa from South America. These were flight restrictions due to covid lockdown regulations. So the Argies flights were straight to Sydney.

What appears to scare the Boks is actually playing a game of rugby.
It's the most embarrassing World Champion reign in living memory.

You think an oke like Pieter-Steph du Toit is scared of playing these players? It's not about scaredness, it's about preparing for Lions tour and RWC 2023. We wish the Boks could play, the players wish they could too. But Rassie is wise.MrDominator wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 8:08 pm What appears to scare the Boks is actually playing a game of rugby.

I'm very disappointed in the Springboks. Some people might call them soft cocks. Others might call them cowards.
Me? I'm just too disappointed to start name calling.

Re: What Scares the Boks...
They are scared of their own shadows.
They have the BILs coming up so cannot lose their WC status to them. But sooner or later you would think they will have to play another test side?

...so you're clearly very proud of a "minor international rugby union trophy" (as per your link), which you currently share with the Boks. Way to shoot yourself in the foot. Well...if you keep losing, I suppose that you'll cling onto any 'winning buy association' method that is available.Jay Cee Gee wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 8:05 pmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_CupVleis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 2:07 pmMethinks that you do not understand the definition of "current". Firstly, it's not shared. Secondly, I'm not that proud of it but surely a World Champion team like the Boks should be able to take a trophy of a mediocre team like NZ and CERTAINLY should have been able to win it sometime in the last decade.Vleis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:13 pm...so you're clearly very proud of a "minor international rugby union trophy" (as per your link), which you currently share with the Boks.
