Ryan isn't as dominant as Porter.
Porter arguably the most important player in Irish rugby.

There's more to TH play than scrummaging alone. There's also how you want to structure your team over 80 minutes.Willie Falloon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:09 pmWhy does he often sit on the bench behind Archer?lorcanoworms wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:09 pmApparently he is one of the strongest scrummaging tightheads in the Northern hemisphere.
Anyone with an iota of rugby knowledge would be aware than John Ryan is a brilliant scrummger. He doesn't bring much else to the field, but he's a top top scrummager.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
So annoying. Hate when that gets called at J4 level let alone with the help of replays. The TMO was simply wrong there. Dunno how he was so convinced.

We just got turned over off first phase, off the top lineout ball.
That is a pretty bad indictment of the coachs.

I’ll let you tell Ferris that you’re an internet geek who knows more about ballingnabanoba wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:00 pmStockdale had Burns inside him, absolutely had to take the outside man. So your point is that Stockdale is allowed a howler because a Leinster guy had one 10 years ago. Is that your point?![]()

I wouldn't expect a front row to understand.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Agreed. Who is going to take over from Farrell with 30 mins to go though?
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Stringer and Flannery having great craic.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Ryan and Ross Byrne are already on.
Though perhaps POM will make all the difference?
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
This is turning ugly
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Stander made the wrong decision
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Massive power in the scrum from Ryan.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Yourself and Earl need to get on the same page with this so your story stands up, he says Luke Marshall always gets the better of AkiWillie Falloon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 3:59 pmMcCloskey is a hugely underated player. Always gets the better of Aki when Connacht come to town, but never gets selected ahead of him.
It's a joke that he hasn't played for Ireland during the past 2 or 3 seasons when he Ulsters best performer (alongside Coetzee)

Made a forward pass early on in the 2nd half. Very quite though.
Get Bealham off.

Stander very poor so far.

I reckon we’d get done if this game was being played in Tblisi with 50,000 Georgians screaming at them.
We look quiet and lacking in confidence.

Not a 13, never was until he moved to France. Tried an outside break 5mins ago and didnt make any ground at all.

Ryan doesn't seem to engage with the ref at all. Herring doing the talking.Willie Falloon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:21 pmMade a forward pass early on in the 2nd half. Very quite though.

Healy on to end the Bealham experiment.

Henderson doing some talking too. Ryan is a bit of an empty jersey this season so far; a shadow of the player he was.Bogbunny wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 4:22 pmRyan doesn't seem to engage with the ref at all. When? recently? 2020 fixture in June we played you off the park. 2019 in Ravenhill Bundee wasn’t playing. So we’re going back to what, 2/3 seasons ago? Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
We're not taking it particularly seriously with all the subs but I don't know why they are keeping the ball in scrums against Georgia.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
This is just a really poor performance. Disjointed, little vision and several players not performing.
Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Ugly but effective kick from Stockdale.
