The 99.991% survival rate quoted is a load of bollox.

https://fullfact.org/online/covid-death-rate-under-60/

They’re very clear “with” ...... are they answering a claim that hasn’t actually been made ?

We also know 40% of those in the spring contracted the disease in hospital.

We know that it’s less than 500 under 60’s who didn’t have a co-morbidity died last year.
but but but the page says factcheck so it must be the undisputed, unmanipulated, and non-selective facts. It is a page called fact check for gawds sake.

A man from KwaZulu-Natal sacrificed his December holidays and has done what no one else has been able to up to now. Sandile Cele has successfully grown the 501Y.V2 COVID-19 variant first discovered in South Africa. It’s hoped this will help in the fight against the pandemic.

Immunisation actually. Vaccination refers to vacca, cow - from the cowpox immunisation for smallpox.

I note that, according to Worldometers, the USA has had more COVID-associated fatalities since 31 December last year than the UK has had in toto.

US is about 5 times the population size of the UK. Meanwhile, we're nearly a sixth of a year into 2021. The deaths per population look comparable between the UK and US.

For virtually every other pandemic in human history, it has ended with the disease ripping through society and is reaching herd immunity. Now we have an engineered solution that will potentially save millions of lives.
This sort of thing gives me confidence that we can beat other problems like climate change.
