If he wants to play, he should sign with the Tahs.

I understand taking him if backrow was a position of weakness, but other than perpetual badboy Latu, Arnold and Skelton, there isn't anyone with substantial upside over our domestic players that I would look at taking.
Skelton is too fat for test rugby.

I’d take Cooper back in a second. He did his knee in 2011 and maybe lost a spot of pace. Reds averaged 30k that year and A lot of people were there for him and the style that he brought to the Reds. He had his flaws but what a star.

Not anymore.

See him play versus Leinster(who are basically just the Irish team)? He was fantastic.

JOC was good last year and even better this year, but it would have been interesting to see how this young Reds team would have developed with Quade at 10.

FFS that was 10 years ago. Learnt to tackle yet?! NO! Exactly what the Wallabies need... a revolving door in defence.

Hes put some weight back on. Still playing good footy but most likely not a great option at test level.
RA have been chasing him since he left and he cannot be tempted. He doesn’t want to come back so they should focus their attention on the likes of Arnold, who is a much better all around lock than Skelton. We already have Rodda and Philip confirmed on top of the talent that is coming through.

Bring back Latu!

Skelton is useful but I don't want a forward in the pack who needs the team to be adjusted so he fits in. He isn't that good. He's fat and probably still slow. Easy rugby is making him look good.

I'd rather my second rowers to be violent lean bastards who can jump in the lineout and allow the other violent lean bastards in the backrow to do their job.

Are we so short we need to call on Skelton?

We have Timani, Neville and LSL running around at the moment. Rodda has come back and Philip will too. We have a couple of up and comers like Swain and Blyth who hopefully will see some game time with the Wallabies this year too.

Do we need another lock?

If we needed one, I'd call back one of the Arnold boys.

I don't think the Wallabies need a non-lineout jumping lock...

At the moment Valetini and Wilson would have to be front runners for the backrow, and while both of them can jump neither are really dominant in that area, so I don't think we want to compound our problems by having Skelton in the second row and then needing someone like Hanigan in the backrow.

There were a few interesting decisions made by Lolesio over the weekend. There was a grubber kick when the Brumbies were hard on attack, 5m out and under the posts that hit a Crusader and scuppered that attack.
He looks a great flyhalf but needs to learn patience there. JOC has that now. I think JOC is the starting flyhalf for the next year or two then Lolesio can take over.
Not sure who comes next. Donaldson and Harrison have a fair way to go. McIntyre is fairly average and Toomua is fading hard.

I like the look of Donaldson as well. Strong in contact and makes good decisions on the fly. Both Lolesio and Toomua tend to kick the pill away at times when we need to hold onto it. Perhaps Noah can unlearn that? He made a couple of decent half breaks and his service was pretty good. Donaldson looks to be a more natural 10.

McIntyre isn’t average. He’s terrible.
There are others - Pasitoa can play but he needs to go somewhere else and get game time. Rebels need to bench Toomia - who is having an awful season - and give Carter Gordon a go.

Btw, Carter Gordon’s little brother looks good. This is going by the 7 seconds of footage I saw on Stan where he scored 14 points in the first 14 minutes of first grade in Australia’s premier rugby comp. 18 year old fullback, who’s pretty big, pretty quick and can kick. Dare I say it….. Latho 3.0

I think Mason Gordon was grabbed by the Rebels in the same deal as his bro. They obvs don't play their wider squad in the Dewer - but rather further north. Good prospect. Didn't seem overly big, but I might be mistaken on that.

An off-contract Pasitoa can get a gig in Perth. ;)

Donaldson I do like.
